PHOTOSHOP COMPOSITION

For this project, students were asked to gain a grasp of Adobe Photoshop and produce a digital narrative collage based on a story of the students’ choosing.

My design concept was based around the infamous story Alice in Wonderland, specifically the scene when Alice first sees Wonderland. After researching other collages, I wanted to focus on the mystical feeling of this place, with Alice standing in awe of what is in front of her.

I developed larger-than-life plants and mushrooms and utilized the contrast of vibrant colors to convey this magical scene. I also utilized the tool of opacity on objects floating in the sky to further communicate this extraordinary scene in the story. By taking advantage of the elements of color, texture, movement and using Alice as a focal point, I was able to successfully navigate Photoshop to convey this magical story.
