For this project, students were asked to re-design a pre-existing book jacket that related to the course content utilizing compositional elements and principles of design.
As a student studying architecture, my design concept revolved around capturing the unique constructions of one of the most distinctive cities in the world: Los Angeles. As a preface, I hoped for the design to have an animated look to showcase the lively spirit of the city. I wanted the color scheme to be vibrant in order to capture the vivacious and energetic character of Los Angeles.

Furthermore, I constructed the different styles of housing as well as the unique geometric shapes of prominent buildings in the city, pointing to the very content of the book. Using Illustrator, I learned to use the principles of color, movement, and contrast to successfully communicate the colorful and special architecture of Los Angeles.
